DESIRE BACKGROUND/HISTORY

DESIRE is the result of a vision and lots of hard work. The vision was to create a space where leather and kinky women could gather and learn to play, socialize, and experience their fantasies and desires. We wanted to provide a place for experienced players to play the way they wanted to. We wanted to provide the best educational opportunities that we could by bringing top presenters to provide both beginning and advanced worskshops, as well as individual mentoring sessions.

The idea simmered for years until one day we decided to make it happen. Marj and I spent many hours discussing the possibilities. We asked three friends to join us in our project and began planning meetings. Shortly after that two of our friends needed to withdraw due to life circumstances. Jesse, Marj and I successfully produced the first DESIRE in 2005. We could not have done it without many of our friends who worked very hard to make it happen.

Marj and I co-produced DESIRE in 2006, 2007, and 2008. After four years of working together producing DESIRE, Marj has decided to step aside and have more time for her career and personal life. She will continue to attend DESIRE and enjoy the benefits of what she helped create. I will always be grateful fo Marj for her service while she was my slave, her professionalism as co-producer, and for her friendship.

The plans for DESIRE 2009 have begun! My boi blu, who has worked all 4 events, is now assisting me in all aspects of producing DESIRE 2009. We are grateful to our friends who work with us to make DESIRE a success behing the lines and during the weekend. We are grateful to our presenters who believe our vision and join us to help create it. And we are especially grateful to all of you that spread the word and return as often as you can to play, learn, and help create an amazing weekend.

DESIRE was greatly influenced by a local event – Sampler – a weekend produced by OCLA (Orange Coast Leather Assembly). Sampler is an educational weekend that provides opportunities for participants to learn and play in a safe environment. We credit Sampler for innovating and establishing the one-on-one mentoring sessions. These sessions are designed so participants can learn at their level of experience and skill with a presenter. Olga attended Sampler several years both as a participant and as a presenter. You can learn more about Sampler-a pansexual event at www.ocla.org.

DESIRE 2005

Over 100 women gathered in Palm Springs for DESIRE’s inaugural year from May 22-24 2005. We invited presenters, put the word out and 68 women registered. The weekend was a huge success! Women played, fucked, learned and shared all weekend long in a truly unique sex-positive, kink-positive community. Both participants and presenters loved the concept of DESIRE and enthusiastically encouraged us to do it again. It was exciting and empowering to play and watch others play. DESIRE was nominated for numerous awards including the Pantheon Event of the Year and Southland Honors. Midori named DESIRE as one of the best places to meet women.

DESIRE 2006

The new resort was exactly what we needed to grow! DESIRE’s new “home” is a beautiful oasis with abundant shade, increased comforts, and an intimate atmosphere. Around 125 women enjoyed 3 days in “paradise” from June 2-4 2006. We transformed the resort – it looked so good the staff wanted us to leave our equipment! We added more presenters and workshops and a 3rd play party on Sunday night. It’s easy to talk about the fun times – because there were so many of them. But what’s often not brought up are the changes that take place when we have the freedom to experience new things and truly blossom. Everyone made the most of the time we had and no one wanted the weekend to end.

DESIRE 2007

DESIRE 2007 returned to our host resort and it was the best DESIRE yet! The energy was more exciting and highly charged due to the many participants and presenters that returned ready to mingle and play. The action began immediately and continued throughout the weekend. There was play at every corner of the resort throughout the weekend and everyone enjoyed the new play equipment. People did things here that they’d never done before. One of the highlights of the weekend was the opportunity of being lit on fire and jumping in the pool. It was exhilerating and empowering for those that did it and fun for the rest of us (to chicken to do it) to watch.

DESIRE 2008

The DESIRE spirit conitues to grow and spread. DESIRE sold out this year! Over 150 women participated this year. It was an amazing weekend! DESIRE has become a sanctuary for leather and kinky women everywhere who eagerly look forward to this event all year long. The entire weekend became the hottest party of the year with on-going excitement and energy. DESIRE continues to bring great presenters and provide a wide variety of workshops and hands-on learning experiences. This year we had our first annual Fist-a-thon and it was WILD! Three women competed, hoping to beat femar’s previous unofficial record o f 22 fists in 40 minutes. The winner took 54 fists in uner 20 minutes! We were honored by performances by Ms. julie and Ronin. We had run with Daddy Rick’s wet t-shirt and Dildo contest. In addition to all the fun, DESIRE continues to be a super affirming positive weekend for all.
